How can I handle a difficult adjuster?

Lucas Foust:
Hi. This is Lucas Foust from Foust Law Office, and this, unfortunately, is a question that I receive all too often. People come to my office and contact me simply because the adjuster's being very difficult. What should I do with a mean adjuster? Well, I've actually prepared a report that answers these questions and gives you five steps to follow.

Lucas Foust:
First, feel free to contact us or download the report from our website. It's contained on our website at www.lucasfoustlaw.com.

Lucas Foust:
But the five things you can do that I recommend are number one, hit the reset button. And I explain each of these in further detail, in the report that's contained on our website.

Lucas Foust:
Number two, become informed. Go to our website and learn as much as you possibly can about the situation that you're in and how the process works.

Lucas Foust:
I'm using this list because I have the report up, but number three, I recommend, if those first two steps don't work, contact the adjuster's supervisor. You have every right to do that.

Lucas Foust:
Number four, I recommend that you ask to change the adjuster. Now, this is something most people don't realize that they can do, but you have every right, even though it's not your insurance company, to ask for a change in adjusters.

Lucas Foust:
If they continue to bully you or continue to treat you improperly, I finally recommend that you contact the insurance commissioner.

Lucas Foust:
Feel free to contact my office and download our reports off our website. Download our book, Abandoned on the Road, a guide to insurance law in Montana. At Foust Law Office, we believe that an informed client is a better client.
