How can I help my case?

Lucas Foust:
Hi, this is Lucas Foust from Foust Law Office and I'm here to answer a quick question that I receive from clients. This is one of my favorite questions that I receive. It's how can I help? Well, there are a lot of ways that you can help your case and one of the most important ways that we find at Foust Law Office is to limit your social media. One of the most dangerous things that you can do is talk about your case on Facebook or spread any information on the internet, anywhere.

Lucas Foust:
The world has changed and this information absolutely can and will be used against you. Just like those Miranda rights you hear on TV, they will use your social media posts against you. The law out there is not completely clear. Even if you set your privacy settings very high, there's still a possibility that a court may rule that the information you presented on the internet is available to a jury. We've had two fairly recent jury trials and in two of those cases, information that our clients posted on the internet came into evidence. That's one way you can absolutely help yourself. To find other ways and other examples of how you can help your case out, I strongly encourage you to go to pages 39 through 43 of our book, Abandoned on the Road: A Guide to Insurance Law in Montana. At Foust Law Office we believe that an informed client is a better client.
