Should I Purchase Underinsured Motorist Coverage?
Lucas Foust:
Hi, this is Lucas Foust from Foust Law Office. And I'm here to answer another quick question. And this quick question that I receive is from people who are in the process of purchasing their automobile insurance policy. They're either evaluating their insurance policy or they're in the process of purchasing or renewing their insurance policy. And the question I receive is, should I purchase underinsured motorist coverage? The simple answer to that question is absolutely, positively, yes. So let me explain a little bit. Underinsured motorist coverage, as I explain in another video, is insurance that pays over and above the other party's insurance policy. In other words, if someone injures you or your family member, and as a result, you sustain injuries that require medical bills and have other expenses and lose other resources and funds, and you require more money than the insurance policy they've purchased, you can use your under-insured motorist coverage to pay for those bills and other expenses, as well as to compensate you or make you whole after the automobile collision.
