What about Hospital Bills?

How can I pay my medical bills?

Lucas Foust:
Hi, this is Lucas Foust from Foust Law Office, and I'm here to answer a quick question that I get from people who are usually surprised at the answer. The quick question I'm here to answer isn't so quick because there are so many ways that hospitals do this. People ask me, "Luke, does my hospital really steal from me?" The answer to that question is yes, absolutely they steal from you. Here's there are two ways that they do this.

Lucas Foust:
Number one, your hospital may refuse to submit your medical bills to your health insurance provider. When this happens, they instead submit, number two, your bills directly to the automobile insurance carrier, your automobile insurance carrier or the other party's automobile insurance carrier. How this occurs is spelled out in more detail in my book, Abandoned on the Road: A Guide to Insurance in Montana, as well as a report that I prepared.

Lucas Foust:
I prepared a report that explains five ways that hospitals steal from their patients. One of the most glaring examples is what hospitals do to Medicaid recipients. If you have health insurance or you are a Medicaid recipient, I strongly encourage you to download my report and download my book and become informed.
