Lucas Foust:
Hi, this is Lucas Foust from Foust Law Office, and I'm here to talk a little bit about, very briefly about, a third situation in which I believe an attorney is absolutely necessary for a claimant in a workers' compensation case, that's if the insurance carrier has an outright denial of your claim. Now there are a lot of reasons an insurance company might deny your claim. They may say it's a preexisting condition that was not exacerbated by a workplace incident, they may say you were not hurt at work, that you're flat out lying. Unfortunately, this happens an awful lot in workplace situations, and the employer will say, "Nope, that person was not injured at work, they're not telling the truth."
Lucas Foust:
If this situation develops after you've been hurt at work, I really encourage you to contact an attorney, whether it's my office or someone else's office. I also encourage you to be as informed as possible. Download a copy of our book, A Comprehensive Guide to Workers' Compensation Law in Montana, and download any other educational information and other videos here related to your workplace claim. At Foust Law Office, we believe that an informed client is a better client.
